올드팝의 새 느낌! Early In The Morning - Air Bag 듣기/가사

Early In The Morning.. 나를 포함한 10대, 그리고 20대에게는 생소하게 느껴질 수 있지만, 기성세대는 거의 다 알고 있을듯 하다. 그만큼이나 상당히 오래된 올드팝이다.. 클리프 리처드(Cliff Richard)의 대표곡으로 통하기도 하는 이곡은, 사실 클리프 리처드가 아닌, 베니티 페어(Vanity Fare)가 1967년에 발표한 곡이라고 한다.  클리프 리처드를 포함하여수많은 가수들이 리메이크를 했고, 홍대를 중심으로 활동했던 우리나라의 인디밴드 에어백(Air Bag)도 2008년에 리메이크를 했었다.

3년전 Vanity Fare 의 곡을 우연하게 접하게 되었고, 얼마전에는 Air Bag이 리메이크한 곡을 들을수 있었다. 그 이후로 이 곡에 대한 사랑은 넘쳐흘렀는데... 베니티 페어의 곡이 산뜻하면서도 희망적인 느낌을 주는곡이라면, 클리프 리처드의 곡은 암울한 느낌.. 그리고 Air Bag의 곡은 활기차면서도 보컬의 목소리가 굉장히 인상적인 느낌을 준다.

Air Bag에 대한 설명은 가사 아래에 작게나마 나와있으니, 잠시후에 확인해보도록 하고, 이들의 리메이크 싱글앨범인 Old & New의 타이틀곡이기도 한 이곡을 한번 들어보자, 클리프 리처드의 곡에 특히 익숙해져있는 사람들에게, 적극적으로 추천한다.

그렇다면, 에어백은 과연 무엇을 하는 그룹인가?? 하는 궁굼증이 생길것이다.

남성 4인조 모던록 밴드이며, Carlos(칼로스? 차? 그나저나 칼로스 조수석에어백 선택;;), JJ, 솔군, 조용찬으로 이루어져 있는데, 2008년까지 왕성한 활동을 하다가, 지금은 어디서 무엇을 하는지 알 길이 없다. 이런 실력파 그룹들이 점점 더 살아나야, 가요계가 활기찬데..;;; 가슴한편으로는 정말 아쉽기도 하다.
